The Aston Hall and Park are a haven of peace and serenity for free enjoyment by one and all. It is situated between the Aston expressway and the Aston Villa football club, in Birmingham, England.
The imposing Jacobean mansion is perfectly located in this majestic 52 acre park, beautifully landscaped with large trees and shrubs, extensive avenues and planting schemes that are constantly changed to enhance the beauty all around.
The park today is part of the formal surroundings of the house, and is a remnant of the gigantic 934-acre Deer Park. This park was renovated and improved by the civic society in the 1930s to include new features that appeal to visitors.
The gardens today feature on the Historic Parks Register due to their location in the heart of a historically important site, and detailed plans have been formulated to maintain and preserve them, as well as incorporate new features.
The Aston Hall and Park are also a focal point for all community events that take place in Aston ward, like the Aston Pride and mini Olympics for children from local schools. A "Friends of Aston Hall and Park" group was formed in 2002 to discuss activities centered around the park and hall. The Aston park also houses the Aston Play Center.
