China is a nation of many wonders, landscapes and attractions. The city of Dalian in China's North East is no exception. Fringed by the azure waters of the North China Sea, coupled with the sun and the wind, the city has the perfect climate to complement its settings.

The city comprises more than 30 squares, each replete with its own unique architectural design, landscape and function. The most famous is the Zhongshan Square, which operates as the financial hub of the city. Its history dates back to the times of Russian colonization, which is evident in its style fused with Gothic and Romanesque designs. Today, it's a well known landmark, abuzz with commercial activity.

The musical fountain in Renmin Square has the effect of Pied Piper's magic flute, as it woos visitors by the dozen. Government offices including the municipality court and the public security office are housed within the enclaves of this square.

The cultural centre is located in the Youhao Square, which was built to commemorate the links China had had with the former Soviet Union. A symbolic crystal ball hangs in the middle of the square held by five hands, depicting the unity and solidarity of the people of the five continents. In the night it is well lit and throngs of people gather to watch movies and be a part of the entertainment that unfolds.

The gateway to the coastal belt of the city is the Haizhiyun Square, which is decorated by figures of sea gulls and other marine animals. The sculptures portray that man and nature live concordantly in the city. The square itself is commonly used as a place for social gatherings.

The Dalian hotels stand in perfect harmony with the plush surroundings of the city. The structural design and comfort of luxury hotels in Dalian
only add colour and vibrance to the stunning atmosphere. The Shangri -La Hotel Dalian, is an inimitable favourite among tourists due to its classical Chinese feel and lavish ambience.
