Once the official seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty, it is the home of Nizams and it is indeed the current Nizam who has upgraded and renovated the palace for over 5 years to restore the building to its former glory. The palace whose origin was as far back as in 1750 is believed to be built in the style of the Teheran palace, belonging to the Shah of Iran. Over several decades in which it underwent construction and renovation, the palace has absorbed different architecture and building styles yet exudes royalty and power from its imposing structure. Once the centre of Hydrabard, this tall, imposing four unit palace is a spectacular site in the city and is now open to public viewing and also to hold private parties and functions.

Out of the two courtyards the southern one is the oldest and is built in neo classical style and has four imposing palaces in it. The northern courtyard with Moghul domes also has Persian elements mingled into it and is complete with a pool and fountain and has the Bara Imam which is a long corridor comprising a line of rooms which are built mirrored on the opposite side. At the heart of the Chowmahalla is the grand Khilwat Mubarak. The floor of the Dubar hall which once held the royal seat has a floor glistening with its polished marbles. In addition, there are 19 intricately designed, long, dangling chandeliers sparkling like jewels, especially when they are lit at night for an occasion, adding immense lustre to this hall where the Nizams once used to entertain their guests. Indeed nowadays the palace is open to the public and special functions and parties can be held here. The palace provides a regal atmosphere and with its ancient touch can make the evening extra special and memorable for any guest.

The Roshan Bungla is a smaller building that is named after the mother of the sixth Nizam and here also private functions and parties can be held.
