The People’s Republic of China is a country inheriting a 4000 year long history and is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. Before the 19th century, China had one of the most advanced economies and societies in the world. China ranges from lower lands in the east to mostly highland and mountains in the west. A number of main rivers of China flow from west to east. China, predicted to be a major leader of the future’s global economy, is home to the ever so wonderful Zhou Enlai - Deng Yingchao Museum, which is located close to Tianjin Water Park and said to be dedicated to Zhou Enlai who was the exceptional founder of the Chinese Communist Party.

Zhou Enlai met his wife Deng Yingchao in Tianjin when he was studying there. After graduating from the Nankai University in Tianjin, he went to Paris and took part in the Chinese Socialist Youth League. The first leader of the People's Republic of China, Zhou and his wife, Deng Yingchao were prominent figures in the origin of the Chinese Communist Party. Even though they possess such a prominent place in Chinese history due to their special political roles, this particular museum is based on the couple’s love for each other.

The contents of the museum feature scraps and jewellery brought from their home, instead of historical documents and scrolls. Zhou Enlai is not only considered as a respected hero of the Chinese revolution but also as a proud son of Tianjin whilst Deng Yingchao, his wife is also cherished owing to her commitment to women’s liberation. Their blissful lifelong partnership is displayed comprehensibly with a large collection of photographs, correspondences, dioramas and documents at this museum, which contains the Introduction Hall, the Exhibition Hall, the Feeling Hall, the Calligraphic Art Hall and the Bamboo Engraving Couplet Hall as well as paintings. Also known as the Zhou Enlai - Deng Yingchao memorial hall and covering an area of nearly 6,600 square meters, this museum was opened to the public in 1998. It also encompasses a video room, library and a guest lounge.

The tourists who arrive to this part of China in large numbers are never unable to locate a hotel in Tianjin. The ones who always prefer a luxurious stay have the choice of the Raffles Tianjin which is elegantly designed and delivers breathtaking views of the cityscape. Therefore this Tianjin hotel is the best recommendation for any traveller to this part of China.
